The innovation center is located at Kullkranpiren, a newly constructed pier at Nyhavna in Trondheim, built as a waste disposal site to make the water in the bay cleaner. The objective is to make Kullkarpiren into a place that generates innovation within art, craftmanship and technology.

The primary construction consists of angel-set, curved glulam frames, crossed by fortifying secundary and tertiary beams.
