In Nakagami Shimoarisu, a small neighborhood in the city of Sumita in the Iwate Prefecture, a comlepex of temporary housing was established to provide shelter for refugees after the Tōhoku tsunami of 2011.

We developed a new masterplan, proposals for renovation of the temporary houses and the old school, and proposed new facilities like an elderly care center. The renovation proposal for the housing units includes a strategy for combining two units to a family unit.

The project was done in collaboration with Luciana 
Tenorio, Liao Qinling and Taketo Tobimatsu.
